Punta Cana

Visa-free for Jamaican passport holders

The Caribbean’s densest concentration of large all-inclusive resorts, strung along Bávaro and Uvero Alto beaches. Punta Cana is where a big group gets the most resort for the money, and where celebrations are easiest to arrange.

The place

Travel highlights

  • Miles of continuous white-sand beach along the Bávaro coast
  • The widest choice of large all-inclusives in the Caribbean
  • Short transfers from Punta Cana International to most resorts
  • Championship golf and a serious excursion market

Popular experiences

  • Saona Island by catamaran and speedboat
  • Hoyo Azul cenote at Scape Park
  • Golf at one of the coast’s championship courses
  • A day sailing with lunch on the water

Advisor’s notes

  • The resort strip is long — the difference between Bávaro and Uvero Alto is a real transfer, and we’ll tell you which suits your plans
  • Beach quality varies by stretch; we check recent guest reports before recommending
  • Book the popular excursions before arrival in high season

Good to know

Questions

Which airport?

Punta Cana International (PUJ). Most resorts along the Bávaro and Uvero Alto coast are a straightforward transfer from there, arranged as part of your booking.

Is it good for large groups?

It is one of the best in the region for groups. Room blocks are easier to hold here than almost anywhere, and individual payment plans work well.

What about entry requirements?

We check what the Dominican Republic currently asks of the passport you’re travelling on, confirm again before departure, and point you to the official source.
